Anonymous art Show! CITYSCAPE Community Art Space OPENING: Nov. 20, 7 – 9:30 Can you find “Red Eye”? It is one of 700+ canvases in the 10th annual Anonymous Art Show located at Cityscape Community Art Space in North Vancouver. This is my fourth year participating in this fun group exhibition where the artist remains a mystery until after the art is purchased – all 8x8 canvases sell for the same price, $100. The piece submitted this year continues in my “light” series inspired by J. W. M Turner , using the play of light to emphasize mood and ‘spirit’. Stepping back from the easel, and pondering the sunset I had just brushed onto the canvas – it gazed back at me as a glowing red eye,…setting down,… for an all night journey…to where? The eye can symbolize the gateway to the Soul, or the container for the secrets of the Soul. Have you ever taken the redeye? To get away? Or to get to a place where, perhaps, your soul could be renewed? Take in the “Red Eye” and see where it takes you, or what secrets of your own Soul it might wink back at you. Thank you for your support, and enjoy the show! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brushstrokes Gallery June 7 - 29, 2014 ; T-Su 12 - 6 I invite you to visit the gallery and take in the inspiring 40+ pieces submitted by North Shore artists - one of which is "Storm's Clearing". Painted in a style inspired by J.M.W. Turner, "the painter of light", the image is a reflection of my own journey, but intended to speak to the greater universal human experience of gaining clarity through riding out periods of "rough seas". Perhaps it will speak to a time in your own journey of overcoming a difficult period. Another piece, "Sunset", will be given away to a lucky visitor. Put your name in the draw at the Brushstrokes gallery by June 29 and "Sunset" could be yours! The draw takes place June 29 @ 2:00 PM. This piece is part of my 'left handed series' painted using my non-dominate hand... when my right/dominate hand was out of commission. Enjoy the exhibit and thank you for your support. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brushstrokes Art Gallery: Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver BC For the months November and December 2013 all art at Brushstrokes Gallery is $100 and under! Thanks to the art lovers who admired and purchased my work at Brushstrokes during the holiday season.
